"Unfinished Business"

"Unfinished Business" is a new heartfelt and evocative contemporary Australian musical by writer and composer Brendan Monger.

It delves into the emotional landscape of a family of four grappling with the terminal illness of their daughter and sister, and the struggle that they experience when faced with the death of a loved one.

Throughout the show, the family tries to navigate the uncharted waters of grief, anger, love, hope, joy and impending loss as each member confronts their own fears, regrets and unspoken wishes. Through their trials, they rediscover the importance of expressing love, seeking forgiveness and finding closure, providing a raw portrayal of how families confront and embrace their deepest fears.

However, “Unfinished Business” is less about a child dying but rather the gut-wrenching frustration of being confronted with situations that are out of your control – times in life where there are no rules and no winners. And the realisation that no matter how hard you try, sometimes love’s not enough.

“Unfinished Business” is a challenging story that asks it’s audience to take the difficult journey and explore the hard questions.

It’s brutal, it’s brave, it’s raw, it’s confronting – and it’s real.
